Many people try to search the world over for reason why some people are successful and others are not. We believe here at Mindset Fitness that each person has a unique ability to harness their own mental processes to achieve any fitness goal that they put their mind to. At the core of any fitness achievement is a strong, mental desire or MINDSET. With this mindset comes the ability to push past any mental or physical barrier that stands in the way of success in the gym.
So why are some strong while others are weak? The answer will rely on how strong or weak that person’s mind is. Chances are, if you train your mind to think positively in times of struggle, or teach your thoughts to gravitate towards success no matter what the obstacle, you will become more successful in you gym goals as compared to someone who lacks these positive mental resources.
There are 3 core values that we strongly believe in here at Mindset Fitness: Faith, Power, and Focus.
You might be wondering why faith is included in a fitness motto. Most of the time fitness and faith lack in similarities which make them hard to compare or link together. When we dig deeper though, you’ll find out that faith is needed in some way, shape or form to progressively move forward regardless of the circumstance. In this case however, faith will be directly linked with how successful you may become in your desired fitness goals. Without it, a person may be left wondering or contemplating numerous questions about the next move to make, or if their hard work is really paying off.
A simple definition of faith is: Believing without seeing. If you continuously believe that the effort you give will result in a successful outcome, regardless of any setbacks, then your faith will bring you to that success.
Mindset Fitness was founded under Christian principles and beliefs. Having absolute faith in God combined with faith in any fitness endeavor is an unstoppable combination. We believe that God is in control always, and if we put Him first in other aspects of our lives, it only makes sense to make Him first in our fitness lifestyles as well!
Power is a strong word. Within a fitness perspective it can be used literally as well as in reference to one’s mental abilities to withstand life’s possible roadblocks or unexpected detours. The feeling of being both mentally and physically “powerful” is unique in its own way. Mindset Fitness is an organization that is built upon the belief that a person’s initial power comes from within. Examples of this would be a source of motivation, a specific goal, or the internal desire to want to excel.
Once there is a source of power that drives you to a desired goal, this power will then radiate outwards into your fitness/exercise routines. The only option here is to become stronger, faster and healthier in reference to whatever your finishing goal might be. When combined, mental and physical strength or “Power” will leave you with positive results 100% of the time.
When preparing for any physical task, simple or complex, the mind must first focus on the sensory input being brought in by the nervous system, and then generate an appropriate response to give your body the desired outcome it wants. When this process is repeated over and over again, the body will naturally adapt to the outside stimulus making it easier for you to succeed in that task.
The mind is an extremely powerful tool to use in any fitness endeavor. Just like the focus that it takes to perform the most simple of tasks, this SAME focus is needed when preparing for workouts, dieting, sports or whatever your goal might be.
The bottom line is: when your mind is focused 100% on succeeding, and your MINDSET will not accept failure or defeat, more often than not the outcome will reward you with that success. It is easier said than done, however if you want it bad enough, nothing will stop you. Any fitness goal that you desire is within your reach, all you have to do is take it!
Putting things into Perspective…
In a fitness mindset, having a full understanding of the pros and cons of exercise in itself is an essential part of the growth process within your own body. Throwing down a dozen eggs and a protein shake before the gym won’t completely prepare you for the task of focusing your mind and thoughts on why you’re there in the first place. From what I’ve learned over the last few years, if your mind isn’t ready to accept the intensity of the workout you’re putting it through, then how can you ask your body to give you 100 percent? The two just don’t mix. That’s why I’m here!
Whether you’re a skinny kid aiming to gain muscle, a middle-aged male/female aiming to burn fat or lose weight, or a seasoned bodybuilder looking for new training techniques, we all have some sort of goals. Without them it is nearly impossible to succeed.
