May 2015 Update from Mitch!

Man oh man, it’s been a minute since I posted a blog update! How crazy life becomes when opportunities arise.

Since the beginning of 2015, it seems that my life has taken an INSANE turn towards a successful outcome. And while I know that the amount of success that I seek is still outside my grasp for the moment, I can’t help but look back over the last few months and say, “God really did provide a way.”

I always thought growing up that I would “know” when my life would FINALLY take off. Like I would get some crazy breakthrough in a day and somehow be set for the rest of my life. It’s funny thinking about this because I’ve learned very fast that it doesn’t happen in a day.

Success comes from consistent and never-ending improvement. Opportunities don’t just happen or land in your lap. Although to some onlookers it may seem that way. Your eyes must be open to opportunities, and when they happen, you can snatch em up!

Just to give you an idea of the things I’ve been doing, here’s a breakdown since Jan this year:

• Launched the first Premium Online Coaching Platform here on MindsetFitness.net!
• Competed and earned a spot on the first ever Del Monte Pro Team – a group of 12 guys who have transformed their physique and are prepped to learn life, business and muscle-building lessons from a man who has done it all, Vince Del Monte.
• Flew to Tampa Florida for a 3 day Muscle Camp with the team and experienced an unforgettable weekend learning from some of the best minds in the industry: Dan Long, Shaun Hadsall, Ben Pakulski, Kassem (Ben’s Trainer).
• Featured in the first Season of MUSCLE CAMP TV (an online show based on our trip to Tampa)
• Competed in 2 Men’s Physique Shows back to back in mid March (Placed 2nd because I was TOO BIG! Oh well, time for nationals ;))
• Received the opportunity to work as a gym coordinator for the 2015 Shredz Tour across the United States in 6 different cities!

I say all of these things not to act like a “do-it-all”, but to show you that life can truly go in the direction you want it to if you allow yourself the patience and persistence to see your dreams through till the end.

In this specific blog post, I wanted to touch on the very last item from the list above: The Shredz Tour.

As a quick review, if you are reading this and have absolutely no idea what Shredz is, then I can made a simple assumption that you do not have an Instagram account.

Shredz is a worldwide supplement company that DOMINATES social media through Instagram. Their athletes have some of the highest followings of ANY other sponsored fitness athletes online. Shredz doesn’t market outside of this realm so if you aren’t involved here, then you most likely haven’t seen them.

My involvement with them came late last year when I woke up to an email from the man in charge, asking me to consider a “Shredz Tour” at my facility. I quickly mentioned that Mindset Fitness was my personal business name, however I do not own a gym facility (yet lol).

To make a long story short, I was told that Shredz was going to cancel the entire Phoenix event because things just weren’t working out…

Remember what I mentioned above about having your eyes open to opportunity? Yeah, I just found one.

After telling them to give me a couple more days to work it out, I put them in contact with some owners of a fitness center I workout at from time to time. I made it A POINT to show my dedication towards helping the process along, regardless if I personally benefited from it or not.

This simple choice paved the way for the next 3 months of my life. Instead of just helping with one event here in Phoenix, I was invited to work as the official gym coordinator for the ENTIRE TOUR all across the US!

Talk about an opportunity…

While I was hesitant to work for someone else temporarily, I knew deep down that this experience alone could be life-changing.

The lesson that I really want you to get from this post is that your opportunities will only come in conjunction with how much your integrity shines through.

I thank God every single day that I had parents who instilled this ideal in me at a young age: When you KNOW what the right thing to do is, DO IT!

It’s as simple as that.

Today I want to challenge you to live up to your greatest potential. Go out of your way to be the best version of yourself that you can be, and when you find yourself climbing up the mountain of success, be sure to be pulling others up right next to you. You never know where your life will go next!
